Welcome to the Suver lab!

Neural circuits for perception and behavior

The Suver lab studies mechanisms of active sensing in Drosophila to understand how nervous systems predict and learn about the world. We use a broad range of tools, including electrophysiology, 2-photon imaging, genetics, and quantitative behavior.

Who we are

We are part of the Vanderbilt Department of Biological Sciences and the Vanderbilt Brain Institute, located in the heart of Music City (Nashville, Tennessee).

We're hiring

We are looking for motivated researchers at all levels to join our group! Please send inquiries to Marie Suver. Postdoctoral and research technician candidates should include a cover letter describing your research interests, a CV, and contact information for three references. Prospective graduate students can enter through one of the following graduate training programs at Vanderbilt: the Biological Sciences Graduate Program, the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program, the Quantitative & Chemical Biology Program, or the Neuroscience Graduate Program.
